AHFA Announces Date for 2008 Sustainability Summit

High Point, N.C. – The American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA) announces that it will hold its 2008 Sustainability Summit on November 12-13, at the Proximity Hotel in Greensboro, N.C.

The Summit will once again target top executives and environmental managers from throughout the home furnishings industry for an unparalleled opportunity to gain insight into meaningful environmental initiatives. Invited presenters come from all aspects of the environmental movement, including government agencies, trend-setting corporations, non-governmental organizations, the design community and leading researchers.

As the venue for this year’s event, AHFA chose Greensboro’s Proximity Hotel, which was designed and constructed according to the guidelines of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building System. The Proximity, which features ultra efficient materials and the latest in green building technology, is on track to become the country’s first LEED Platinum Hotel.

Registration details for the 2008 Sustainability Summit will be announced at a later date.

The American Home Furnishings Alliance –located in High Point, N.C. and Washington, D.C. – is the largest association of home furnishings companies in the world and represents more than 240 leading furniture manufacturers and distributors, plus about 200 suppliers to the furniture industry worldwide.
